Ingredients
- Fresh Green Beans: 4 ounces (115 grams)
- Olive Oil: 1/2 tablespoon
- Salt: 1/8 teaspoon, or to taste
- Pepper: 1/8 teaspoon, or to taste
- Garlic Powder: 1/4 teaspoon, optional
- Panko Bread Crumbs: 2 tablespoons (optional, for extra crispiness)
Option 1: Healthy (No Panko)
If you’re going for the healthy option, then here’s how to cook green beans so that they are as crispy as you’re going to get them!
- Prepare the Green Beans: Rinse and trim the green beans. Pat them dry with a towel.
- Season: Toss the green beans in a bowl with 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, 1/8 teaspoon of pepper, and garlic powder if using.
- Air Fry: Arrange the green beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (204°C) for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The beans should be crisp-tender.
Option 2: Extra Crispy (With Panko)
However, if you’re in the mood for something a little bit crispier, but a tiny bit unhealthier, then I’d definitely recommend adding panko (I think it’s well worth it).
- Prepare the Green Beans: Rinse and trim the green beans. Pat them dry with a towel.
- Season and Coat: Toss the green beans in a bowl with 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, 1/8 teaspoon of pepper, and garlic powder if using. Add 2 tablespoons of panko bread crumbs and toss until the beans are well coated.
- Air Fry: Spread the coated green beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (204°C) for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The beans should be crispy and golden brown.
